Let No-One Despise Your Youth

Often we think too little of ourselves; the more we develop the habit of doing that, the more our self-esteem gets lower. We often forget who our FATHER is and just the way we think little of ourselves, we start thinking little of our Father in Heaven. Let’s not forget and keep reminding ourselves that we are part of a royal family, we are citizens of a Kingdom that cannot be shaken. We are children of a King with no limitations. Therefore, despite your age or circumstances, press on. 1 Timothy 4:12 “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity”.

I use to think I cannot tell anyone older than me what to do, or how to live the life according to how God wants of them, thinking “they know better”, and why would they listen to me because I’m just a young person. HOWEVER we must not stop ourselves, for this is the will of God, to go out and make disciples. I came across this verse in the Bible; Psalm 40:8 “I take joy in doing your will, my God, for your instructions are written on my heart”. It really spoke to me to take JOY in doing God’s will. If God takes joy answering our prayers and providing our needs, let us take joy in doing his will and not holding ourselves back from anyone. The moment we do take joy in doing God’s will, it will be seen through our conversation, faith and spirit as Timothy declares; be to be an example.

“God is looking for those who don’t just have seasons of consecration but lifestyles of it.” – Jaye Thomas
